Terrain: Enjoy remnant stands of massive pines.
Staff: The staff here were polite enough but they seemed a little reserved.
Bathrooms: Very clean and in good condition. 4 comfort stations (3 with showers and one without showers). Often times there is a line up to wait
for the bathroom at the small comfort station.
Showers: Three smaller buildings with showers in them; one in each section of the park and one in between the two campgrounds. The one between the two campgrounds also has laundry facilities. Showers are clean and in good condition. There are barrier free showers available in each shower building.
Beach: There are 3 sandy beaches. One larger day use beach over by the office. It has a jungle gym (that was temporarily closed) and it has swings. It is also the entrance to the logging museum. The second one is in the Assinika campground. It has swings and picnic tables. The third one is in the Chicot campground. All are sandy and have buoy lines and gradual drop offs. There are no lifeguards on site.
Outdoor Water Faucets: Well placed through out the park. They look clean and new.
Hiking Trails: Transition Trail offers a moderate hike that is five kilometers long and will take approximately two hours to complete. The trail takes you through a variety of forest types from mature pine stands to a Black Spruce bog. There is a 350 year old White Pine on this trail. This trail has 2 smaller loops on it if you don't want to hike the whole 5 km.
Pet Amenities: There is a small pet beach in the Chicot campground. It is over near the group campsites and is more of a boat launch area than anything else. But it is a place for your pet to swim.
Playground: One at the day use beach near the office. There are also swings at the beach in the Assinika campground.
Park Store: Located In the park office. The store features clothing items, souvenirs, maps, firewood and books..
Rentals: The park runs a TackleShare program which lends out fishing rods and tackle to park visitors.
Trailer storage is available at Marten River.
